Get smart & vaporize instead of smoking...

At the time that the Iolite Portable Vaporizer came out, it was a one of a kind vaporizer that caught my attention. I liked the idea of not requiring an external lighting mechanism, as this system runs on butane and a piezoelectric ingnition system. I got one of the early versions and after about 1 year of use, the ignition system started giving me problems, but fortunately this is a real company with real warranties and it was replaced (shipping took a couple of weeks, but I had other vaporizers to use while I was waiting). The replacement system has worked reliably since I received it.

The Iolite Portable Vaporizer is mass-manufactured, which means that there is some room in the price range. The retail price on the official Iolite website is $200; I have seen the same item (NEW) on eBay for as low as $110, but these are probably NOT authorized sellers and the manufacturer may not honor their warranty.

This vaporizer performs very well and deserves a place in any serious vaporizer collection. You can consider this a stealth vaporizer for the purposes of transport (it will fit nicely in a large pocket), but once you start to use it, the hiss from the butane system is noticeable if you are in a quiet environment. And once people hear the hiss, they will be looking around and once you learn the basics of using this vaporizer, you can create some very nice clouds that would surely be noticed in such a situation.

This system will deliver 10 to 15 hits. It maintains a set temperature range and it takes less than a minute to reach good vaporizing range. As is standard for most vaporizers, the first few draws will produce a very high flavor with little cloud production, but after the initial hits, you can get very tasty clouds. The best way to use this system is to draw very slowly and very slightly. Deep and fast draws will not produce the most effective results, so be gentle with the Iolite Portable Vaporizer and you will be very pleased with your vaporizer!
